Rightside™ Partners with NameJet for Initial New Top Level Domain Auctions

Thursday, April 24, 2014

NameJet and Rightside have partnered to help launch the new Top Level Domains (TLDs), .DANCE and .DEMOCRAT, through the use of landrush and premium auctions.

Kirkland, WA

Rightside Registry, a generic Top Level Domain registry owned by Rightside, is now offering early access to their first two TLDs, .DANCE and .DEMOCRAT, in the landrush phase of their release. Rightside has selected NameJet to manage auctions for both landrush and upcoming premium auctions for these TLDs. At the conclusion of the landrush phase, all available domain names that receive multiple early access (landrush) applications will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

Landrush for .DANCE and .DEMOCRAT opened April 16th and will close on May 5th, with general availability opening for each domain on May 21st. Additionally, upcoming Rightside TLDs .REVIEWS and .NINJA begin landrush in early May and will also have auctions operated by NameJet.

In conjunction with the beginning of the .DANCE general availability period, NameJet will be operating featured auctions for premium .DANCE domains including:
ballroom.dance
chicago.dance
touchdown.dance

These auctions are all scheduled to close May 20th - 22nd. For a full list of the .DANCE Premium auctions closing in late May, please visit http://www.namejet.com/featuredauctions/dance.

“NameJet is committed to being a leader in the new TLD auction space, offering some of the most desirable TLDs available,” said Matt Overman, General Manager, NameJet. “This is just the beginning of our strategic partnership with Rightside. In addition to these TLDs, we plan on bringing more to the market as they become available from Rightside and our other registry partners.”

Jeff Eckhaus, Senior Vice President, Market Development and Policy, Rightside said, “Our relationship with NameJet, combined with their experience in new TLD launch auctions and recent sales trends, make them the ideal partner. We’re looking forward to working with NameJet to launch these TLDs and more.”

In the United States there are more than 25,000 professional dancers, 32,000 dance studios, and 38,000 choreographers with LinkedIn profiles. The .DANCE TLD is targeted toward this passionate and enthusiastic group. With the popularity of programs like Dancing With The Stars, which has a weekly audience of over 13 million, the .DANCE domain will give individuals and organizations a powerful and previously unavailable platform for branding.

The .DEMOCRAT TLD appeals to a large market of candidates running for elected office, political enthusiasts, organizations passionate about political identity, and consultants/advisors. There are currently greater than 43 million registered Democrats in the United States and an estimated 500,000 elected officials. With $644 million spent in the last Presidential election cycle, the .DEMOCRAT TLD will give Democrats a new and powerful way to reach their supporters and strengthen their brand.

New gTLD .wiki Offered to the Public by Top Level Design, LLC, with NameJet's Support

Wednesday, February 19, 2014

NameJet.com is partnering with Top Level Design, LLC, to bring the new gTLD .wiki to the domain name marketplace. NameJet will oversee the Sunrise and Landrush auctions and help with future premium auctions.

Kirkland, WA

Top Level Design, LLC, the applicant for the new top level domain .wiki, has selected NameJet, the leading domain name auction platform, to operate the sunrise and landrush auctions and help with future premium auctions.

NameJet provides .wiki the complete auction solution needed to manage the .wiki launch. NameJet’s proven platform, by which millions of names are made available and sold, is poised to help bring new .wiki domain names to market with Sunrise expected to begin in March, 2014. Additional details will be made available on NameJet’s New TLDs page as they become available. “The introduction of the .wiki top level domain is a historic event in the evolution of the Internet and we’re excited to be a part of launching such a dynamic TLD,” said Matt Overman, General Manager of NameJet.

The .wiki TLD will make wikis more valuable through greater visibility and ease of use. Most Internet users are familiar with the concept of wikis, thanks to Wikipedia.org’s status as one of the most highly trafficked websites in the world. “There is something unique and magical about wiki’s revolutionary publishing style that will continue to bring like-minded people together to create amazing and ever growing resources,” said Raymond King, CEO, Top Level Design LLC.

The .wiki TLD is targeting four major demographic markets: enterprise wikis, enthusiast wikis, developer wikis and individual wikis.

Enterprise wikis are best suited to organizations and corporations. The most innovative and organized companies already bring their staff together via wiki.

Enthusiast wikis provide a platform to organize information based on shared common interests. The .wiki TLD will empower a revolution for fandom, hobbyists, and academics. Wikipedia is the largest example of an enthusiast wiki, but Top Level Design hopes to foster a boom in specialty wikis.

Developer wikis are the natural place to host development and open source projects. It is visible and accessible, and it creates an intuitive space for any groups that develop through collaboration. Most developers are already connected and working with their colleagues via wiki, and so the new namespace will become a natural home base for them.

An individual wiki focuses closely on a person or family, with a .wiki domain name dedicated to an individual, one can participate in the creation process and invite others to do the same. The result will likely be quite different but complementary to a well-written Wikipedia biography.

The generic Top Level Domain (TLD) .MENU is currently in the sunrise stage of release in accordance with ICANN regulations, with auctions scheduled for mid-February 2014.

Kirkland, WA

The .MENU Registry has opened the sunrise phase of release for the new Top Level Domain (TLD) .MENU. The registry has partnered with NameJet to run all auctions for both the sunrise and landrush phases of the TLD launch.

The .MENU Top Level Domain is ideally suited for restaurants, catering businesses, food service industries, and food enthusiasts. During the sunrise phase, trademark holders are given the opportunity to acquire .MENU domain names that correspond to their trademarks prior to the domains being released to the general public.

“With so many new top level domains coming to market in 2014, the Q1 launch of .MENU puts the registry in a great position to capitalize on early consumer interest,” said Matt Overman, General Manager of NameJet. “The addition of a dedicated online space for menus will only add momentum to what companies like Yelp, Zagat, OpenTable and Urban Spoon have already started.”

NameJet is the exclusive auction platform for .MENU, and will oversee auctions during the sunrise and landrush phases of release, as well as premium domain auctions.

Trademark holders who wish to acquire a .MENU domain should submit an application with a registrar that is offering .MENU domains such as http://www.encirca.com. In any instance where domains receive two or more successful applications, NameJet will operate the auction to resolve the contention allowing all parties to bid for the rights to the domain name. The Sunrise window for .MENU officially opened on December 9, 2013 and the deadline to apply is February 6, 2014. Auctions are scheduled to run during mid-February at NameJet.com. Kirkland, WA

FindYourDomain is now offering a group of premium Chinese language domain names at NameJet. All of the names being auctioned have multiple meanings, with each also doubling as a common Chinese surname. For example:
xiao.com
liu.com
zhao.com
zhou.com
jiang.com
liang.com
liao.com

For a full list of available inventory, please visit: FindYourDomain auctions at NameJet.

These domains are available to backorder now, with the auctions running from January 3rd to January 14th, 2014.

The market for Chinese domain names has been highly active over the past year. 4.cn is a Chinese marketplace that deals almost exclusively with Chinese domain names and boasts 280,000 customers and 1.6 million domains. Numeric domains are selling at all-time highs, most noticeably the $2.1 million dollar sale of 114.com. FindYourDomain has also had great success selling Chinese .COM domain names recently, selling feng.com in late 2012 for $250k and shen.com for $125k. On top of that, NameJet added the sale of xiaoxiao.com for $51k in Nov 2013.

“NameJet is truly an international marketplace for domain names,” said Matt Overman, General Manager of NameJet. “In the last year we have had customers come to us from over 200 countries, and nearly 10% of those come from China. The demand for numeric domains and for one word generic Chinese domains is hard to keep up with.”

FindYourDomain Broker Michael Cox said, “NameJet has done an outstanding job in helping us to market and sell our premium domain names. We’re excited to be partnering with them to offer some of the best Chinese .COM inventory in the marketplace.”

MD.org Offered for Sale in Online Auction

Thursday, March 21, 2013

NameJet.com and FindYourDomain.com partner to auction Premium .ORG domain

LOS ANGELES, CA

FindYourDomain.com, a top brokerage for high-end domain names, has announced that MD.org has been listed in an online auction at NameJet.com, a world-renowned marketplace for domain names. The auction is open to the public and it will start on April 9, 2013 and end on April 12, 2013 at approximately 12PM PST. Auction participants will find a starting bid of $69 and a modest reserve price for this premium domain name.

The medical industry is one of the largest and fastest-growing industries in the world, typically contributing over 10% of the gross domestic product in developed nations such as the US.* In the past decade, many health care related companies have begun to assert their virtual presence by establishing websites to allow for current customers to access their services as well as provide prospective customers the chance to obtain more information.

As the number of mobile device and tablet users increases, the demand for shorter domain names such as MD.org is becoming apparent. MD.org provides an instant competitive advantage for any organization desiring to make their mark in the online medical space. This is the first time that this versatile two letter .ORG domain name has ever been marketed for sale.

"The value of MD.org is apparent in the succinct nature of the name and widespread use of the term 'MD'. MD.org would be a perfect fit for any health care provider, professional, or investor seeking to establish a new website or re-brand with an easy to access name," said FindYourDomain Marketing Manager Tom Salbego.

For more information on the auction, you may visit http://md.org
